APRIL:

* Sat. 4.1 (11 am – 2 pm): QUILTMAKING for BEGINNERS, Part I: Piecing a Top, Class #3. Quiltmaking is divided into 3 parts: Piecing (the top), Quilting (the quilt sandwich), and Binding/Finishing (the quilt). In this Part I, learn THE best techniques on how to choose fabrics, cut, & piece a quilt top (approx. 42″ x 48″) + more, in this supportive and engaging, hands-on, 4-session class. Class fee: $179 includes 4 classes + all-purpose ruler. Additional supplies available at The BOLT. Sewing skill level: Confident Beginner. Instructor: Jane H.

* Wed. 4.5 (10:30 am): SLOW STITCH Handwork Group. A monthly group designed to inspire, share knowledge & companionship, and create beautiful things. Join us as we celebrate and honor handwork! Show & Tell. Projects participants are working on include Liza P. Lucy/Kim McLean’s “Glorious Hexie” BOM, applique, binding, hand quilting, & hand piecing, among others. All skill levels welcome. $5

* Sat. 4.8 (11 am – 2 pm): OUT of the BOX Series: MAKING PARTS.  This 3-hour ongoing monthly class has you exploring & experimenting, encouraging you to step out of your comfort zone! Monthly focus will be on making block patterns aka “Parts”. Class Fee: $30/class, payable quarterly. Skill level: Advanced Beginner.  Instructor: Jane H.

* Tue. 4.18 (Noonish): CHARITY SEWING.  The focus will be on designing and sewing twin-size quilt tops from assembled HST units. RSVP is appreciated.

* Sat. 4.22 (11 am – 2 pm): ACCESSORIES and All: a Hands-on ‘How-to Use’ Your SINGER 221 “FEATHERWEIGHT” Sewing Machine. Class fee: $50.

Bring your vintage Singer “Featherweight” 221 and in this hands-on class, learn how to use it 🙂 Covering everything from proper threading to the various original accessories, you’ll learn all about what your adorable, dependable sewing machine can do. Pre-requisite: History & Maintenance of the Singer 221 “Featherweight” Sewing Machine.

* Sat. 6.3 (11 am – 2 pm): OUT of the BOX Series: IMPROV!   This class focuses on Log Cabin Improv blocks & will go from there 🙂 Class Fee: $60. Skill level: Experienced Sewist who’s ready to try Improv. Instructor: Jane H.
